The Doctor’s Digital Assistant, the first Artificial Intelligence application in the Health sector, is available for doctors today, October 30. The aim is to offer healthcare professionals immediate and comprehensive access to patient data, ensuring time savings, reduction of bureaucracy, better coordination of care provided and facilitation of medical decision-making. It is a new innovative tool that is part of the National Electronic Health File (EHFP), in the context of the cooperation of the Ministries of Health and Digital Governance through the agency HDIKA S.A..

Physicians can use the Physician Digital Assistant through myHealthDoc and obtain immediate information from the patient record and personalized view of results through rapid analysis of medical history, tests, medication, etc. More specifically, physicians can either ask the Digital Assistant in plain language, or select questions from the provided list, such as “what drugs were administered in the last trimester?”, “which have vaccinations been done to date?’ “Show me the patient’s medical summary.” It even provides question suggestions and supports spoken conversation.

It is pointed out that the Citizen’s Digital Assistant for Health will soon be put into operation, which will allow citizens to have easy, personalized and secure access to health services and their data.

The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis stated: “The operation of the Digital Assistant for the Doctor marks a new era for the NHS. It gives doctors instant access to patient history, reduces waiting times and supports diagnosis and treatment. Our goal is to make public health more efficient and people-centered. In about a month we will be able to present the Citizen’s Digital Assistant, so that all our fellow citizens can gain easy and secure access to health services and their data. Health is moving into the new digital age – available to everyone.”

The Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou stated: “Technology, with the right design, makes life easier for all of us, and that’s exactly what we’re aiming for with the Digital Physician Assistant. We are introducing Artificial Intelligence to the National Health System for the first time, to effectively support doctors in their daily work, reduce bureaucracy and enhance the quality of care provided. This is another important step in the overall digital reform of Health, which we are implementing in collaboration with the Ministry of Health through our body, IDIKA. Soon, the Citizen’s Digital Health Assistant will follow. We are moving forward for a more intelligent, interconnected and human health system, for the benefit of all.”
