How much would you pay for a pair of used shoes?

Someone Spent More Than… $200,000 For A Pair Of Old Birkenstock Sandals That Belonged To The Co-Founder of Apple Steve Jobs!

This is the highest price a pair of sandals has ever fetched at auction, according to auction house Julien’s.

Over the weekend, the tech pioneer’s Arizona brown suede sandals, which were expected to sell for $60,000, sold for a staggeringof 218,750 dollars when they went under the hammer at Julien’s auctions, accompanied by an NFT.

Ahead of the sale, the California auction house said the second-hand sandals, described as “well-used” but still “intact,” were a staple of Jobs’ wardrobe in the 1970s and 1980s.

“The cork and jute sole retains Steve Jobs’ foot print, which was formed after years of use,” the auction house said on its website.
The Birkenstocks were rescued from the trash by Mark Sheff, the Apple founder’s former butler.

“Steve Jobs changed the world not only with his revolutionary innovations, but with his entrepreneurial style of leadership in fashion while wearing sandals,” Darren Julien, CEO and founder of Julien’s, told CNN in a statement Monday. “These beloved Birkenstocks were worn by Jobs as he made history building the Apple computer and were a key feature,” he claimed.

Jobs died in 2011 of pancreatic cancer.
