The Greek-French School “Saint-Paul” presents the 8th issue of the magazine “dedication” with the theme “1922: Piraeus & refugees”

The Greek-French School “Saint-Paul”, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, presents the 8th issue of the “dedication” magazine, with the theme “1922: Piraeus & refugees”.

With this publication, the School pays tribute to the memory of the Greeks of Asia Minor who were violently uprooted from their native land and found refuge in Piraeus. In the city that “embraced” their drama and ensured them the guarantees for a new beginning.

The chapters of the magazine are dedicated to the arrival of the refugees in Piraeus and their reception by the locals, to the contribution of the refugees to the Arts and Tradition, to the recording of testimonies and to the reference to the events and sufferings of the refugees either through short stories by authors or in from the newspaper pages of the time. The magazine’s 216 pages host original articles and rich photographic material.

The presentation of the issue will take place on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 7:00 p.min the School’s Event Hall (Kountouriotou 229-231).
The issue will be prefaced by:
• Angelos Syrigos, if. Professor of International Law and Foreign Policy, at Panteion University and Deputy Minister of Education & Religious Affairs
• Vasilis Karapostolis, emeritus professor of Culture and Communication at the Department of Communication and Media. at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

A musical ensemble and the School Choir participate in the event.
