Tarantino: My next film will be my last

In his interview, Tarantino said he didn’t want to continue working under par, explaining, “I don’t want to be that old man who’s out of touch when, already, I feel a little bit like an old man out of touch when it comes to the movies that come out this the moment”.

That the next film will be his last, he confirmed in an interview with CNN, o Quentin Tarantino (Quentin Tarantino), thus keeping his promise that he would only direct 10 films. It is noted that the American director, screenwriter and film actor in the last three decades has directed nine films, (not including Death Proof in 2007, which was part of Grindhouse, along with the film Planet Terror by director Robert Rodriguez) .

“I’ve been doing it for a long time, I’ve been doing it for 30 years. And it’s time to wrap up my presence,” Tarantino said.

Tarantino began his big screen directing career with 1992’s Reservoir Dogs and most recently helmed 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He has won two screenplay Oscars: for 1994’s Pulp Fiction and Django 2012’s Unchained, both of which he directed.

His other independent directorial credits include: Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004), Inglourious Basterds (2009) and The Hateful Eight (2015).

In his interview, Tarantino said he didn’t want to continue working under par, explaining, “I don’t want to be that old man who’s out of touch when, already, I feel a little bit like an old man out of touch when it comes to the movies that come out this the moment”.

However, the director said he still doesn’t know what his 10th and final film will be because, he said, “I’m in no rush to make my last film.”

“Right now, I don’t even know what a movie is — is it something that plays on Netflix? Is it something that plays on Amazon and people watch her on the couch? Is this a movie?’ he wondered.
