Kelly Clarkson Says She Will Be ‘Single Forever’ After Troubled Divorce

by

Singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson, 39, joked that she intends to be “single forever” after the troubled divorce from American businessman Brandon Blackstock, 44. The artist spent more than R$ 6 million in the process.

During the Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer said that she has difficulty understanding the “warning signs” of bad dates. “I’m always that person who’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t know. Maybe they were having a bad day,'” he commented.

The guest, Andy Cohen, added that after seeing a warning sign at a date, he tends to run away. Clarkson joked and said, “We should go out together so I can stop being like this.” Cohen also revealed that he enjoys having cocktails during a date.

The singer disagreed with the attitude, saying that she is probably “a person who likes coffee better”. “I don’t know if I’m still willing to invest in a night with you. I think I’ll be single forever,” she joked.

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020, after nearly seven years of marriage. With the manager, she has two children: River Rose, 7 years old, and Remington Alexander, 5 years old. In July of this year, the artist was ordered to pay a pension of R$ 1 million to her ex-husband.

The end of the relationship was due to “irreconcilable differences”. The couple’s engagement came after just ten months of dating, in December 2012, and the ceremony took place on a Tennessee farm on October 20, 2013.

Kelly once said that her marriage to the manager was like “a fairy tale”. Brandon became the theme of some of her songs like “Piece By Piece”. The revelation that the link had come to an end was given by her during her talk show on NBC channel, in September 2020.

“As you probably know, 2020 has brought a lot of changes to my personal life as well. I definitely haven’t seen anything that happened, but what I’m dealing with is difficult, it involves more than just my heart, it involves a lot of little hearts,” he commented at the time. .

The war between the singer-songwriter and her ex-husband, however, seems to be far from over. In late 2020, Clarkson filed a lawsuit with the California Labor Commission alleging that the ex defrauded his accounts while he was working as his personal manager.

According to TMZ, Kelly says Brandon was not legally allowed to operate as a talent agent because he never got a license. She asked for all the fortune she would have lost over 13 years back.

On the website, the entrepreneur’s lawyer, however, said that Kelly had his own talent agency and that although Starstruck’s company provided talent management services on his behalf, it always did so with the endorsement of Kelly’s company.
