Ang Lee he is preparing to convey the story of his life Bruce Lee to the big screen and the Oscar-winning Taiwanese director chose his own son to embody the martial arts legend.
Deadline reports that the film is in development by Sony’s 3000 Pictures, with Ang Lee’s son Mason Lee as the lead.
“He was not accepted as fully American nor fully Chinese, yet Bruce Lee was a bridge between East and West who introduced Chinese Kung Fu to the world, a martial scientist and an iconic artist who revolutionized both the martial arts and action cinema,” said Ang Lee.
“I feel compelled to tell the story of this brilliant, unique man who longed to belong, possessed tremendous strength and who, through tireless hard work, made impossible dreams come true,” he said.
Bruce Lee’s life was previously depicted in the 1993 film Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, starring Jason Scott Lee.
