The documentary series will be released after Christmas on December 27th
Acclaimed chef Jose Andres will return to his roots for a new documentary, to be shot in Spain.
The Discovery+ documentary series, titled “José Andrés and Family in Spain,” will follow Andrés as he explores his birthplace with his three daughters. At the same time he will cook many of the local dishes that shaped his development as a chef.
“Spain is the country where I was born and where my passion for cooking began,” says José Andrés in the first trailer for the series, which will be released after Christmas on December 27.
“Spain is deep in my soul and its food has made me who I am, a chef who loves to feed the world,” he underlines.
The trailer shows Andres along with his three daughters, Carlotta, 23, Ines, 21, and Lucia, 18, traveling through Spain and enjoying local sights and experiences along the way.
Among others they visit major cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, as well as the city of Roses in Catalonia, where Andres started his career at the legendary (and now closed) restaurant ‘El Bulli’.
The Maryland-based chef says, “I moved to America three decades ago and raised my family here. And now I’m taking my daughters, Carlotta, Ines and Lucia, to my beloved homeland.”
José Andrés is the founder of the non-profit organization World Central Kitchen, which 12 years ago was formed by a group of volunteers and has grown into one of the most recognized humanitarian disaster relief organizations.
