Fashion brands leave clothes for a while and “dress” our house

by

As our life has changed in recent years and our home has become the main place of work, entertainment and relaxation, so the attention of fashion designers changed and turned to interior design and the “dressing” of the house.

In just three years, Bessie Afnaim Corral and Oliver Corral had achieved what many young designers only dream of. By February 2020, their company, Arjé, was being sold everywhere. Then the first wave of Covid-19 struck.

No one was shopping for clothes, let alone pieces worth thousands of dollars. Instead everyone stayed at home.
Then they made a radical decision about the situation: They would turn to the sale of household items and eventually liquidate the clothes they had kept in stock.

The end result was Arjé Home, an airy Mediterranean-inspired apartment where you can buy everything from Re Jin Lee ceramics and Nordic Knots rugs to books.

Designers from even the highest echelons of fashion meet the needs of the lifestyle by creating pieces for every home.
At the end of August, sofas were in even greater demand than dresses at Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda show in Venice, where Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana unveiled their first line of furniture, the Dolce & Gabbana Casa.

“We dream of creating a space ‘adapted’ to your personality, your passions and your tastes,” said the designers, emphasizing: “The house is, after all, the place that best reflects what we are.”

Gucci, in turn, to respond to the new reality that made the home the center of our world, launched the Gucci Lifestyle, which has stationery items, such as notebooks, cases and cases.

If you think about it, it is no coincidence that social media has been pushing interior design in recent years.

“Social media made people think about what they were wearing. “Now they make them think about where they live,” says Henry Holland, designer.

“We are fully aware of our home environment, as we had to work, live, socialize and relax there for about two years,” says Lucie GreeneLucie Greene, founder of Light Years.

“From gardens to home renovations and the purchase of new ergonomic office furniture, the long stay in our homes has made us want to invest more in them.”
