World Cup: ‘Defeat still hurts a lot, we were so close, so close’ says Neymar

After Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup, Neymar is still shaken. The striker revealed to his followers this Sunday (11) that he continues to suffer from the defeat. In a publication on Instagram, he said that he is already on Brazilian soil, but that he has still been thinking a lot about the match against Croatia, ending his dream of winning the sixth championship in Qatar.

“The defeat still hurts a lot, we were so close, so close”, vented the striker. “Unfortunately, or fortunately, I still haven’t learned to lose. Defeats make me stronger, but they hurt me a lot, and I still haven’t gotten used to it.”, confessed Neymar.

The player also said that the defeat in the quarterfinals of the Cup is a wound that will take some time to heal. “Anyway, we have to move on… Life makes us move on, even if it hurts and the wound takes a long time to heal, we have to move on”, recognized the ace.

Neymar also made a thank you post to the now former coach of the Brazilian national team Tite, which he called an “open letter”. “You will always be one of the best coaches I’ve ever had or will have, I will always praise you. We had beautiful moments but we also had moments that hurt us a lot and this last one will hurt us for a long time. You deserved to be crowned with this cup, all we deserved it”, concluded Neymar.
