Kostas Missas acquired the nickname “General” because of his organizational ability and leadership. He competed in PANIONIOS since 1968 and lived the first European participation (October 28, 1975) and the first presence in the Cup final (July 15, 1977).
He retired from active action in 1989 and took over Vlado Jurovic’s assistant. During the period 1993-1994, Costas Missas took over as a first coach, leading Panionios to 4 of the Korac Cup after an epic qualification against MacCabi Tel Aviv, which he had won twice.
He returned a few years later to Panionios and was also the first coach in the “golden” National Youth of 2009 as well as the 2017 Men’s National.
