All it took was actress Bruna Linzmeyer, 30, to post a bikini photo on social media for a barrage of criticism to begin. A lot of people have been taking to her Instagram to comment on her choice to keep both underarm and bikini hair visible.
Bruna’s initial idea was to show the swimming competition in the sea in which she took part and even won a medal. But soon the topic was sidelined and what was perceived were offenses and unpleasant remarks.
However, with the repercussion of the subject, other people decided to populate the actress’ profile with positive and encouraging messages. “It is at these times that I hate the internet because it gives a voice to this bunch of people who always have something to talk about other people’s bodies”, opined the profile @monevedoy.
“The year is 2022 and people discovering that no one is forced to shave”, posted the profile @_evegiannini. “People like to take care of each other’s lives, leave the girl, people! So many nice things to comment on her post and you make a point of saying what was not asked”, wrote @eliza_livya.
Since 2018, Bruna has been talking about the freedom to have body hair. “Having hair and not wanting to be a mother is not to provoke. It is really who I am. It surprises me, it bothers me, that this is an issue for others, a provocation. A woman does not need to be a mother to be a woman. And an adult woman has hair,” said the actress at the time.
