Ruth Wilson Says She Doesn’t Want to Get Married: ‘I Don’t Believe in Institutions’

Ruth Wilson, 40, who won the Golden Globe for best actress for “The Affair,” said she has no plans to marry because she doesn’t believe in institutions, but in strong relationships and connections. The statement was made in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.

“I’ve had a very strong relationship for several years. I believe the value of having someone in your life who understands and sees you is enormous. And I’m so glad I did. But I don’t believe in institutions,” he said.

However, the actress stated that she doesn’t believe in institutions and feels a little limited by having to conform to other people’s ideas of what a relationship is or where she should be at this point in life. “Sounds dogmatic to me.”

She joked that resistance to marriage could be genetic because her grandfather, writer and spy Alexander Wilson, was a polygamist. The actress’s grandmother discovered the other relationship after her husband’s death and the story was told in the historical drama “Mrs. Wilson” (2018), in which Ruth plays her own grandmother.

A viagem.
