The English actor, who is best known for his role in ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’, is said to have impressed producer Barbara Broccoli during an audition for the role
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill are the bookies’ favorites for the role James Bond.
Not long ago it was rumored that the Taylor-Johnson may be cast in the lead role of James Bond in the next film in the franchise after reportedly impressing producer Barbara Broccoli during a secret audition.
British firm William Hill gives both Taylor-Johnson and Cavill odds of 2-1 to succeed Daniel Craig. Recently it became known that Henry Cavill is retiring from the role of Superman.
Lee Phelps, spokesman for William Hill said: “I think they will both be very suited to the role, they have shown that they are very good in action films.”
According to the bookmaker, Tom Hardy is third favorite at 6-1, followed by Reggie-Gene Page at 8-1, James Norton and Chiwetel Ejiofor both at 10-1 and Douglas Booth, Richard Madden and Dunn Stevens at 12-1.
The producers of the James Bond films have stated that age is an important criterion in the selection of the protagonist. “We’ve tried to target younger people in the past,” said Michael J. Wilson said in October about the casting process, adding, “But trying to visualize it doesn’t work,” adding that they’re looking for an actor over the age of 30.
Taylor Johnson is 32 and Cavill is 39.
