In November, federal deputy Alexandre Frota shared a video on his social networks in which a waiter was compared to Jair Bolsonaro (PL) due to their physical resemblance. The joke revolved around the removal of the representative from public tasks after the loss of the election and the fact that he supposedly preferred to become a waiter rather than work for the country.
But the joke did not go down well with the man who became “Bolsonaro’s look-alike”. So much so that he filed a lawsuit against Frota in court.
According to the Court of Justice of São Paulo, although it is recent and there are still no movements, there is a lawsuit for image rights in which the waiter is the author and asks for BRL 100,000 from Alexandre Frota, who has more than 180,000 followers on twitter.
The professional has felt humiliated with the teasing and jokes that have been made with him after being filmed while exercising his trade. When contacted, Alexandre Frota said he will not comment, as he still has no knowledge of the action.
Recently, Justice declared Frota bankrupt at the request of the parliamentarian himself. The former actor claimed to have debts greater than his assets and said he was unable to pay them off. Frota reported that he is a defendant in several lawsuits asking for damages. Together, they reach R$ 1.4 million. He claimed that it was impossible to afford this amount based on what he receives in the Chamber. The gross salary of a federal deputy is around R$ 33 thousand.
The request was accepted by Judge Carlos Aiba, of the 3rd Civil Court of Cotia, in Greater São Paulo, who determined that Banco Econômico S/A will be responsible for managing Frota’s assets, until it settles all debts.
“The attached documents do not contain any asset of relevant value that integrates the debtor’s assets. The debts already reach the level of R$ 1,400,000.00. Therefore, the author’s situation of insolvency is evident, and it is recommended to establish creditors for equitable satisfaction of debts, through control of the Judiciary”, said the judge.
