Moscow put a “freeze” on the scenarios for peace between Ukraine and Russia.

“The Kremlin ignores the alleged preparation of a peace plan by Ukraine, while recent statements by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky about a peaceful solution are cut off from reality,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.

When asked if the Kremlin has heard that Ukraine is preparing a “peace formula,” the Russian official said, according to TASS, “no, we don’t know anything about that.” However, we heard President Zelensky’s statements about various steps, (…) for a peace plan. However, everything that President Zelensky has said so far is untrue, which cannot be ignored,” the Kremlin spokesman stressed.

On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing US and European sources, that Ukrainian authorities were working on proposals for a “peace formula” that could be made public next February. According to the American newspaper, Zelensky’s group has a 10-point peace formula in the works.

The Ukrainian leader told a joint session of Congress after his talks with US President Joe Biden that the two discussed Kiev’s proposals for settling the Ukrainian conflict. According to Zelensky, Biden supported Ukraine’s initiative to hold a world peace summit to discuss these proposals.

On December 12, Peskov had stated that the Kremlin was not aware of the Ukrainian leader’s peace summit idea.
