Lawyer says that purchase of a jet by Safadão coincides with the departure of the ‘Sheik of Bitcoins’ from the company that owns the plane: ‘I find it strange’

Since October this year, the jet operated by musician Wesley Safadão’s company, WS Shows, has become news amid a legal battle. This Thursday (22), the aircraft, valued at R$ 37 million, was blocked by the Justice.

The determination is part of a set of judicial arrest decisions (preventive blocking of assets to pay debts) of properties owned by Francisley Valdevino da Silva, Francis Silva, known as the Sheik of Bitcoins. He was appointed by the Federal Police as the leader of a fraud scheme that moved almost BRL 4 billion, through financial pyramids and the sale of crypto assets.

The musician’s advisory stated, in a note, that “it was surprised” by the court decision that blocked the aircraft. And he also said that the musician and his company were “victims of this operation”. According to WS Shows, the plane was acquired as a guarantee of payment for an investment made in one of Francis’ companies, through financing at Banco do Brasil S/A.

Lawyer representing a group of victims of Francis, André Portugal, told F5 that he considers the purchase of the jet “strange”, as it coincides with the date that Francis, the Sheik, left ITX Administração de Bens Ltda, with the aim of unlinking his company name.

The company is linked to Sheik and the jet at the center of the dispute is registered in his name at Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency).

“We signed an out-of-court agreement with some companies in the Sheik’s group, [entre elas a ITX]🇧🇷 Thirteen days later, Francis left the company and on the same day the purchase and sale contract for this aircraft was signed for Wesley Safadão”, he says.

In the process, André accompanies the attachment of goods, including the aircraft.

André also says that the contract signed between Safadão’s company and Francis’ company mentions only the sale of the aircraft, without mentioning the discharge of debts, or the payment in kind – a technical term used when the debtor delivers an asset to settle a debt.

Regarding ownership of the plane, the lawyer states that the transfer of ownership for aircraft is different from that of a common vehicle, such as a car, and is similar to the transfer of real estate. “If you buy a property and don’t register the property, it’s no use, you don’t own that property.”

Sought by F5, the WS Shows advisory said it will not comment on the lawyer’s statements until the end of the case. He also affirms that “it is in the hands of Justice so that everything is resolved fairly”.
