Forty children of the choir of the Arsakeia-Tositsei Schools under the direction of Christina Varsami-Kukni and Monica send their Christmas wishes … otherwise, by arranging one of the most beloved holiday songs, “Christmas is all around” from the soundtrack of movie “Love Actually” for a good cause.
As Ms Varsami-Kukni tells APE-MPE, the reason for the initiative was “the sensitivity and love of the students of our schools towards their peers suffering from cancer, as well as the need they felt to put a small stone in the struggle of life that these little fighters and their families give every day”.
Monica embraced the idea and thus the proceeds from the single “Christmas is all around” will be donated to ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer, as chosen by the children of the choir.
“There are indeed many well-known Christmas songs, but sometimes we want to hear something a little more special. “Christmas is All Around” is a song that I personally always liked and its arrangement just came about on a day that moved and inspired me” comments Monica to APE-MPE, regarding the choice of this particular song to convey the message of life. “The initiative of love, allocating all proceeds to a socially beneficial cause, is something that is always in the back of my mind, for all projects, and when there is the possibility to proceed with a substantial act of giving, I do it from the depths of my heart. This is how it happened with the “Hope” organization and I am really happy that during the holidays we were able to melodically, with the bright voices of the children, send a message of love to the whole world” underlines the popular artist.
“Health, Love and Hope (in capital letters)” is the wish that the forty male and female students of the choir asked to be conveyed to everyone who will hear their song. “Music is everywhere. The more we listen to the world around us, the more our heart opens. So sing, dance, hug, life is beautiful. Happy holidays with health and bright dreams!” says Monica to APE-MPE.
