On December 23, the “Our Breakfast” and the Faye Skordaswere welcomed to the Make-A-Wish (Make-A-Wish of Greece) in a show dedicated to children! The last show of 2022 brought huge children’s smiles, emotion but also optimism to the set. Many families and wish children shared their own stories with the audience, openly discussing both the subject of the illness and the healing effect of the wish being granted. In fact, Mr. Vasilios Papadakis, Scientific Advisor of the organization and Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist, Director of ESY in the Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology of the “ELPIDA” Oncology Unit, revealed important information about the connection of mental health and its role in the treatment of children with cancer.
Young and old spoke about their wishes that came true but also about the reason they give their souls to volunteering, believing in the power of their purpose. The amount collected reaches 88,000 euros and the total number of wishes that will be fulfilled with this amount corresponds to 21 wishes of children suffering from a serious illness. The number of SMS and calls to the 5-digit number correspond to 8,408, while more than 200 donations were made online.
