Robbie Williams says he sees ‘a lot’ of himself in Harry Styles – And then… he woke up

“It’s trying to fill a space. This stage is huge and it’s a lonely place,” the singer said

Robbie Williams spoke to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 when asked about various singers from the new generation of pop stars. “You know when you see Harry Styles, he kind of reminds you of you, the way he’s on stage?” the host asked him.

And the singer replied: “Absolutely. I see a lot. This is trivial, but the algorithm on YouTube, it got me a Harry Styles video talking between songs and what he was talking about was nonsense, like I talk too, just a bit of fun.

And it was like seeing what he was doing. It tries to fill a space. This stage is huge and it’s a lonely place,” added the singer.

Elsewhere in the interview, Robbie Williams stated that he is a fan of Wet Leg and wants to work with them. “I like this band. I would really like to work with them. I don’t know if they would want to work with me.”

Williams in September released ‘XXV’, a collection of songs from across his discography, which topped the UK Album Chart and saw him overtake Elvis Presley as the artist with the most Number One albums.

He then embarked on a tour of the UK and Ireland, playing two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in December, which were filmed for inclusion in his upcoming biopic, ‘Better Man’.
