Prince Harry: ‘I want my father and brother back’ – ‘No intention of reconciling’ his family

by

The Duke spoke to journalist Anderson Cooper and CBS’ 60 Minutes in an interview that will air just two days before the book’s release.

“I want my father and my brother back,” Prince Harry reportedly said in one of two interviews he gave just days before the January 10 release of his book, Spare.

Prince Harry claimed his family had shown no “willingness to reconcile” and that he would “like to have my father and brother back”.

Both shows today released trailers of the interviews, in which – following the NETFLIX documentary – Harry launches further attacks on the royals and the press, saying they “preferred to portray us (him and Meghan) as mean and bad guys”.

The Duke of Sussex spoke to journalists Tom Bradby (in the UK) and Anderson Cooper (in the US).

Speaking to ITV News presenter Bradby, Harry says it “never had to be like this” and refers to the “leakage and rumours” before adding “I want a family, not an institution”.

Meanwhile, the trailer of his second TV interview has been released. The duke spoke to journalist Anderson Cooper and CBS’ 60 Minutes in an interview that will air just two days before the book’s release.

The trailer shows the two men having a face-to-face conversation. According to the accompanying caption, more details about the book’s content are expected to be revealed.

“Spare” has been described as written with “raw, profound honesty”, and transports readers to one of the most poignant images of the 20th century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the people watched with sadness.

Harry’s 416-page book was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist JR Moehringer and will be translated into 16 languages worldwide.
