The Marvel actor, Jeremy Rennerthanked people for their well wishes and kind words in his first social media post since his New Year’s snow plow accident.

Renner posted a selfie on Instagram showing the bruises on his face. “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too crap right now to write but sending love to you all,” she wrote.

The actor, who was in a critical condition after the accident, has now undergone two surgeries. Renner was helping a family member with his personal vehicle that got stuck in the snow Sunday, Washoe County Sheriff Darrin Balaam explained during a news conference.

Renner’s family had come to celebrate the New Year, but the small village, near Mount Rose where he lives, was buried under a meter of snow and residents were without electricity and running water for two days when the accident happened.

The actor, who has his own fire truck, snow plow and other heavy machinery, took a snow plow to help.

“He has a lot of injuries, but now he is fine,” said people who are near him.

Conditions were extreme this weekend at his $3.25 million, 6,919-square-foot home near the Mount Rose Highway north of Lake Tahoe.

Reno Mayor Hilary Schieve said she and the actor are friends and that she was called about the accident shortly after it happened near the Mt. Rose, which connects Reno to Lake Tahoe. “He’s always helping others,” she said.
