Another day of revelations captured in Prince Harry’s ‘Spare’ book come to light.
Today, the Daily Mail reveals yet another heated episode between Harry and Crown Prince William, which according to the former, took place at the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip.
According to William’s brother Harry, he was “red with anger” during a half-hour walk with their father, now King Charles, at Frogmore Cottage after Philip’s funeral on April 17, 2021.
Harry, William and Charles were reportedly discussing Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah last month.
Harry claims he was trying to tackle the ‘bullying’ of Meghan but his father and brother ‘wouldn’t listen to him’.
He also claimed that William was “fuming” and caught him as he tried to leave.
“I waved, disgusted, but he jumped and grabbed me by my shirt. ‘Listen to me, Harold,’ Harry says in his book that William told him, according to the Sun.
“I walked away, refused to meet his gaze. He forced me to look him in the eye. Hear me, Harold, hear me! I love you, Harold! I want you to be happy,’ the heir to the throne told him.
Harry claims he replied: “I love you too…but your stubbornness is extraordinary!”
Harry reportedly tried to pull away, but William reportedly “grabbed him again” and “twisted” him so he could maintain eye contact with him.
William then invoked his brother’s so-called “secret code” and swore on Princess Diana’s life that his intentions were true, Harry wrote.
He writes that William said, “Harold, you must listen to me! I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear on mom’s life.”
As Harry reports: “I froze, I froze, Dad froze too. He had used the ‘secret code’, the universal password. Ever since we were little, these words were to be used only in times of extreme crisis.’
William reportedly repeated: “I swear to you now on mum’s life that I just want you to be happy.”
Harry claims that “my voice broke” and he “calmly” told William: “I really don’t think you want this (hence him being happy).”
William then reportedly hugged Harry and said: “I love you.”
