Celebrities condemned the invasion of Bolsonarist protesters in areas of Congress, Planalto and STF (Federal Supreme Court) this Sunday (8). On social networks, artists such as Marcelo D2, Silva, Bruno Gagliasso, Cleo, Ingrid Guimarães, Lucas Silveira and Rennan da Penha expressed their indignation at the acts. Other celebrities, such as Gil do Vigor and Felipe Neto, also took a stand.

In the world of music, artists published tweets critical of the invasion in Brasilia. Singer Silva questioned: “Is it that easy to invade Congress?” He added: “Yes, friends, our country is a zone”. In a comment made in a publication by Sheet On Instagram, DJ Rennan da Penha wrote: “In the favela, we get bullets from the state, what do these mules get?”

“Imagine if they were teachers”, questioned Marcelo D2. “Learn one thing, the police belong to the white playboys, their police are there to beat and arrest us… Poor, black, working people cannot count on the police”, added the rapper. Singer Lucas Silveira, from the band Fresno, posted a video of the protesters and questioned whether they would be arrested.

Actors and actresses also took a stand against the acts. Daughter of Glória Pires, Cleo wrote on Twitter: “We want peace, love and respect, but we receive war and destruction from people who do not accept the president-elect, people who are trying to carry out a coup d’état. Terrorism, that’s it what is happening in Brasilia”.

“My God, how sad! How far have we come…”, said Ingrid Guimarães in a tweet. Bruno Gagliasso shared a sequence of videos of the invasion on Instagram stories and said: “Time to act! Anti-democratic criminals, coup plotters attacking. The attack on democracy has materialized. It is serious!”. Actor Humberto Carrão, also on Instagram, wrote: “Jail for all these scumbags!”

Admittedly a supporter of President Lula (PT), former BBB Gil do Vigor condemned the acts on Twitter. “When students peacefully protested, they were treated like bandits, but white and rich people can do anything, including being undemocratic and in fact criminals. But since they are white and rich, fine, let’s talk, right? A shame!”, he wrote. “It is revolting to see the attempt to destroy democracy! Invasion of the national congress?! This is unacceptable!”, added the former BBB.

Youtuber Felipe Neto, critical of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), made a sequence of tweets about the episode. “The terrorism practiced by Bolsonarists doesn’t even have a purpose. Absolutely nothing can happen that prevents the result of democracy from continuing. Nothing. It’s just a riot of rioters that will result in arrests. And let’s hope they don’t cause deaths”, he said.
