Monark says he feels sympathy for coup leaders who invaded Brasilia

“I feel sympathy for the people who are protesting, this state of ours is a nefarious and authoritarian dictatorship, they only steal from the people. Something must be done, but our political class has proven cowardly and conniving, so it is normal for the people to feel hopeless and rebel”.

It was in this way that the podcaster and youtuber Monark, formerly of Flow, revealed his support for the coup demonstrations in Brasília. On Twitter, he gave another controversial statement and ended up massacred on the social network. “You are colluding with terrorists,” opined writer Márcia Tiburi. “You’re dying for the PF to knock on your door, right?”, posted Pedro de Carvalho’s profile.

“You speak of an empty and unfounded certainty. You make it seem that the history of the world is only 15 years old. Leave it to those who studied and know”, published the profile of Victor Degasperi.

On Sunday afternoon (8), coup demonstrators entered the Esplanada dos Ministérios, invaded the Planalto Palace, the Congress and the STF (Federal Supreme Court), spread acts of vandalism in Brasília and clashed with the Military Police.

The action by supporters of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) took place a week after the inauguration of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), preceded by anti-democratic acts inflated by the coup-mongering rhetoric of the former president during the electoral period.

Military police officers from the Federal District were seen at a distance from the scene without reacting directly, just taking pictures of the events with their cell phones.

In Brasilia, in reaction to the bombs, demonstrators set off fireworks. In the confrontation, they threw iron bars and other objects at the police, who had their cars broken. A vehicle had its tires deflated and was partially thrown into the water mirror in front of the Congress.

Those responsible may be punished in court based on the Anti-Terrorism Law, legislation that Bolsonaristas themselves tried to toughen up in order to punish left-wing protesters.
