Actor Nicolas Cage, 59, mourns the death of his ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, 57, the only daughter of singer Elvis Presley. The singer and songwriter died on Thursday (12) after being hospitalized because of a cardiac arrest.
In a statement sent to the press, Cage said the news is devastating and fondly remembered his ex-wife. “Lisa had the hottest laugh of anyone I’ve ever met. She lit up every room and I’m heartbroken.”
The actor ended the statement by saying that he finds some solace in believing that Lisa will be reunited with her son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in July 2020.
Guitarist and producer Michael Lockwood, with whom the singer was married for ten years and had two daughters, also mourned the death of his ex-wife through his lawyer, Joe Yanny. “Michael’s world is upside down. He has two daughters now,” said Yanny.
Priscilla Presley, Lisa’s mother, announced her daughter’s death on Thursday, hours after she went into cardiac arrest at home. According to Page Six, the singer died at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles, where she would have been placed in an induced coma. “She was the most passionate, strong, loving woman I’ve ever known,” mother Priscilla Presley told The Associated Press.
