Robert Downey Jr. (Robert Downey Jr) appeared completely unrecognizable on the set of the HBO series, “The Sympathizer”. It is an espionage thriller that follows the travails of a French-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War, which resulted in his exile to the US.
The series is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen, and the actor will play “five different roles.”
In the new photos released online, the famous actor has sparse red curly hair, while his face with the help of makeup has been so distorted that he is unrecognizable.

A few months ago in a video shared on Instagram the star asked his sons to help him shave his head.
“The things we do for our jobs… and our kids,” the actor captioned the post.
A premiere date for “The Sympathizer” has not yet been announced.
Also starring: Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen(Nguyễn Cao Kỳ Duyên), Kiều Chinh(Sandra Oh) and Alan Trong(Alan Trong). Filming will take place in both Los Angeles and Thailand, according to ET.
