According to Studiocanal, ‘Back to Black’ will follow the singer through her years “living in London early in her career and on her intense journey to fame”.
Her first photo was released Marissa Abella (Marisa Abela) as Amy Winehouse (Amy Winehouse) in the upcoming biopic ‘Back to Black’ which opens on January 16th in London.
The pic debuted as Studiocanal announced it was partnering with Focus Features and Monumental Pictures on the musical drama. Sam Taylor-Wood, who directed 50 Shades of Gray and Nowhere Boy, is also directing the Winehouse biopic. “Back to Black” was written by Matt Greenhalgh.
According to Studiocanal, “Back to Black” will follow the singer through her years “living in London early in her career and on her intense journey to fame.”
Variety reported in the summer that the 26-year-old British actress is the frontrunner for the role of Winehouse.
