The famous actress Jennifer Coolidge she never expected to get so emotional when she received her Golden Globe on Tuesday night.
“I was surprised at how I broke out,” she told Page Six. “I was standing in front of this crowd and I forgot where I was. I got a lot out of my feelings. I wasn’t trying to be funny. I was serious,” she added.
The 61-year-old actress was clearly overwhelmed as she received a standing ovation while accepting the award for Supporting Actress in a Limited Series/Anthology for her stage role as lovelorn billionaire heiress Tanya McQuoid in the HBO hit “The White Lotus”.
In her speech, Coolidge said that her dreams of becoming a star had been “extinguished” from her life and that she had been kept with small jobs over the years by friends such as Ryan Murphy (“The Watcher”), Michael Patrick King (“Sex and the City”) and the Weitz Brothers (“American Pie”), along with “Legally Blonde” co-star Reese Witherspoon.
When asked about her personal life, Coolidge revealed that in the many dates she has gone on, she hasn’t judged anyone to be right for her, stressing that “I haven’t found the love of my life.”
