Thiago Salvático, who claims to have dated Gugu Liberato (1959-2019), lost the lawsuit he was filing in court to have the relationship between the two recognized. The presenter died in November 2019 after suffering a domestic accident.
According to Salvatico, the judge understood that, although he had exchanged messages and photos of the two together on trips, recognition of the union would not be possible, as the two were never seen together. The process is secret of Justice.
“The judge’s justification for denying recognition, despite the evidence, was that we didn’t have enough publicity for the relationship. And he didn’t even hear the witnesses,” says the chef, in an interview with F5.
The evidence to which Salvático refers would be several records of moments shared between the two. In addition to the messages and photos together, he claims to have submitted registration for a joint bank account.
“Hundreds of messages, photos, proof of our travels together, proof of our joint investment account, proof that I had passwords, from cards to Instagram. Today, having access to a social network of one of the greatest figures in television is something very more relevant and shows how much I was present in his life, because no one but the two of us had the password”, he says.
He claims that the denial of the recognition of a stable union occurred because it was a homosexual couple. “I believe that would not happen in a heterosexual case. I will appeal, because I still believe in Justice and I will not accept this type of prejudice. I will not let a single person dictate my real story.”
Salvatico maintains the version that the two had a stable relationship for eight years, but that everything was kept private. “I understand that it is difficult to understand our stable union, in the possible way for a homoaffective relationship and for a public person”, he says. “This is one of the biggest stars on television, and [o segredo] should be kept among the people who interested him.”
