Actress says Madonna’s relationships ‘just don’t last’

Actress Sandra Bernhard talked about her estrangement with singer Madonna, 63. In an interview with the Hot Takes and Deep Dives podcast, she said that the way the singer wanted people close to her to relate to her distanced them in 1992.

“I really don’t like that level of visibility and having to constantly work on it. All of us as artists work to some degree, but I’m a very improvising person, on stage and in my life, and I don’t like to be stuck with having to be in a certain way for my image,” he said.

Bernhard and Madonna were close friends around the 1980s. “What I’ve tried to convey to our friendship is, ‘I’m really your friend, I’m not just a passing person,'” completed the sitcom actress “Will and Grace” (1998– 2006).

She added that, despite the distance, the friendship she had with the singer was very beautiful. “I think we had a real friendship for a while, but it’s hard for someone like her,” mused the artist who also appeared in the movie “Like a Mother, Like a Daughter” (1995).

“She really doesn’t want someone around who thinks too much about who she is. So her relationships just don’t last,” he added in the interview.
