F5 Award: Marília Mendonça is elected best singer of the year; see hit of the year

The year 2021 will be marked for music fans and, above all, for admirers of Marília Mendonça (1995–2021), who died in November in a plane crash. Queen of suffering, she left a legacy that will be remembered forever. As proof of this, 94% of internet users voted her the best singer of the year at the F5 Awards, receiving more than 160,000 votes.

Voting began on November 16th and ran until December 6th. The internet user could vote as many times as they wanted for the F5, Folha’s entertainment website. In some categories, there were campaigns by competitors and collective efforts by fan clubs, which boosted the dispute. Among the rookie categories of the year are best entertainment podcast and best streaming service.

Competing alongside Marília in the category of best singer: Anitta, 28, who took the trophy in 2020 and now received 3% of the votes, as well as Glória Groove, 26, Ludmilla, 26, and Pabllo Vittar, 28, who were tied with 1%. Pabllo, in turn, won the award for hit of the year with the song “Triste com T”, part of his album “Batação Tropical”, released this year.

Pabllo was elected with more than 150 thousand votes, reaching 86%. The songs were competing in the category: “Batom de Cereja”, by Israel and Rodolffo, which had 5% of the votes, “Girl From Rio”, by Anitta, with 4%, “Coração Cachorro”, by Ávine Vinny and Matheus Fernandes, and “Preferred Scheme”, by Barões da Pisadinha, with 2% of the votes each. Barons of Pisadinha had already won in the category in 2020.

In the best singer category, rapper Emicida, 36, won with 82%, receiving more than 74 thousand votes. In 2020, the musician also took the category, with 59%. Alongside the artist, competing this year were names such as Gusttavo Lima, 32, who had 7% of the votes; Jão, 27, with 2%; Luan Santana, 30, with 3%; and Zé Vaqueiro, 22, who won 6% of the vote.

Finally, Simone and Simaria won the category of best duo, group or band. Colleagues received 57 thousand votes, out of more than 75 thousand, which is equivalent to 75%. With them, competing names such as the duo Anavitória, which received 7% of the votes; the Sorriso Maroto group, with 4%; and competing for the prize again, Os Barões da Pisadinha and the duo Israel and Rodolfo, who were tied with 7% of the votes.
