Madonna has announced a major world tour to mark her 40th career in music.
Among the tour stops is the O2 Arena in London.
The announcement of The Celebration Tour comes after weeks of speculation that the Queen of Pop was planning something big to celebrate her presence in music, 40 years after the release of her self-titled debut album, which launched her career by blazing her way to the top with hits like Holiday, Lucky Star and Borderline.
Taking to Instagram – after previously making sure to delete previous posts, hinting to her followers that a major announcement was apparently coming – Madonna simply commented: “Come join the party!”
In a statement sent to Sky News, she said: “I’m excited to explore as many songs as possible in the hope of giving my fans the show they’ve been waiting for.”
The tour will kick off on July 15 in Vancouver, with 35 cities on the list.
The musical journey starts in Canada, continues in the USA, from Chicago to Los Angeles, and ends in Europe – London, Barcelona, Stockholm, among others.
The tour will conclude in Amsterdam on December 1st.
