Mother of a 1 year old baby, Marília Mendonça saw strength in motherhood

Marília Mendonça, who died this Friday (5th) at the age of 26, leaves a child of just one year and ten months old, Leo Dias Mendonça Huff, from her relationship with fellow countryman Murilo Huff.

Known as the queen of suffering, the singer used to talk, either on social networks or in interviews, about her relationship with her son.

“Having a child is seeing that you were selfish, yes, and not that orange blossom, with the kind heart, who only thinks about the next one, as you imagined”, he wrote on Twitter in January 2020, less than a month after giving it to light. “It’s seeing that you’re not the center of attention and that you’re not even as weak as I imagined… that you can handle it, yes, more hours awake, more hours without eating, more hours without taking a shower, more hours without thinking only about your belly button.”

Marília Mendonça died in an air accident on the way to Caratinga, in the interior of Minas Gerais, where she would perform a show. With her were the advisor, producer, pilot and co-pilot of the aircraft. All died in the accident.

On March 6 of last year, returning to the shows after a period of maternity leave, the sertaneja said that being on stage was a demonstration of affection for her son. “I’m not suffering for being here. To do this is a demonstration of love for him,” said the singer in an interview before the show, in which she also said that Leo had been taken care of by grandmother Ruth, his mother.

Months later, in August, when the little one turned eight months old, Marília made a publication in Instagram stories in which she said that motherhood had given her life. “It’s been eight months since I really started living,” he said.

In December 2019, about to give birth, the singer gave an emotional statement about the revolution she was about to experience, in her last show before giving birth, in Caxias do Sul (RS).

“Not in my greatest dreams would I have imagined that I would feel something this strong. God sent the greatest feeling in the world as a gift, to show me that if I hadn’t died of love yet, the time had come. I’m taking a break from my prime, literally. The peak of my love, the peak of my life, the peak of my happiness, the peak of my growth as a woman, the peak of my maturity. You thought I was talking about success, right? successful having in my womb my great love, that I already hear the signs of arrival?”, he said, at the time.

​This Friday, actress Deborah Secco paid tribute to her friend and left a message for the baby: “Leo, your mother left a legacy here that you will be so proud of.”

RELATIONSHIP WITH MURILO HUFF

Marília Mendonça’s relationship with Murilo Huff, 26, was marked by comings and goings, but also by respect and companionship.

In July 2020, when the couple announced their separation, the singer denied rumors of betrayal and praised her former partner. “He’s a very respectful guy, I’m very proud to have my son with him. He’s good, a fighter, a fighter, from his family,” wrote Marília at the time, on social networks.

On the same day, Huff also spoke: “Marília and I are fine with each other”, he wrote. “We always respect each other a lot and I’m very proud of her, of having had and creating an eternal bond with her, who is our son,” he added. “I am extremely grateful for every minute of life she shared with me over these years. The respect will continue between us forever.”

The couple still reconnected and broke up again. In September of this year, after confirming a new breakup, the sertaneja asked for respect and once again said that she had been very happy with Murilo Huff.

“Behind two singers, there are three lives. Remember that. If there’s a true story, it’s that we were very happy and tried everything, we gave it our best. And that’s honorable. Now let’s go on in peace. I’m so grateful to this relationship for everything,” he wrote.

“Respect the people. Respect the endings. Respect the reasons. That’s all! Respect how you would like to be respected,” he concluded.
