Kaia Gerber he said he wants to play her Patti Smith in a biopic about the legendary American singer-songwriter and lyricist.
The model and actress, who stars in the film Babylon alongside Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, was asked if there are any literary heroines she would like to play on the big screen in an interview with Elle.
“Patti Smith, with Just Kids, completely changed my life,” answered Kaia Gerber, daughter of the famous model Cindy Crawford, referring to the singer’s memoir, which was released in 2010.
“And Joan Didion. I have read everything he has written. I watched her documentary a million times. Her quote that has really affected me is “I want to know where the pain is”. I discovered it and thanks to it and I don’t try to escape from my feelings,” said Kaia Gerber.
In an interview with iD last year, Gerber said she would like Patti Smith to write the foreword to her autobiography.
“Well, if there was a universe where anything was possible, I would literally crawl on the floor for Patti Smith to write the foreword. But, you’ve got to dream big, so I’ll say Patti Smith,” he added.
Kaia Gerber had her first major roles in the series “American Horror Story” and will appear in the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy “Mrs. American Pie’.
