Alice Braga complains that number of followers influences casting tests

by

Actress Alice Braga, 38, complains that producers have started asking for Instagram followers when selecting actors for audiovisual projects. With a successful career in Hollywood and 850 followers on social media, the actress says that this demand for social media affects her casting choice.

“This is a problem for a lot of actors because they started asking for numbers of followers to audition. This is absurd, it shouldn’t be measured to do anything. How are we going to employ amazing and unknown actors? It’s unbelievable, but it’s the world we live in”, says the actress.

Shy and very reserved about her personal life, Alice says she had to learn to communicate with people. But the actress claims that it has become almost a role of the actor to give information about his personal life to the audience rather than talking about a movie. “I have no prejudice of who does [dá informações sobre a vida pessoal], it’s good.”

Alice says that she follows fellow actors who post photos on Instagram and thinks it’s really cool as a way to keep up with her fans. But she admits that this is not the case and defines herself as a very hippie person. “The technology thing, knowing how to tweet, posting. I forget to post, making stories.”

The actress reveals that she would like to make more posts on social media to generate communication with fans, but that is not her way of being. “Since this isn’t organic, natural of mine, I don’t want it to be a fake.”

Soon, fans of the actress will be able to see her in theaters. On January 6, the feature film “Eduardo e Mônica” will premiere in cinemas, inspired by the classic song by the band Legião Urbana, which tells the story of a different couple.
