Did you know that Glória Maria, who died this Thursday (2) from cancer at the age of 73, was once a telephone operator? Yes, she did the job while juggling her job with journalism classes at PUC-Rio.
The presenter has a life full of curiosities ranging from unusual places she has visited to a sincere friendship with Roberto Carlos. Check out some of them below.
100 COUNTRIES
Glória Maria has traveled to more than 100 countries just for the coverage she has done for Fantástico. In addition, she was the first reporter to appear live and in color in 1977, on Jornal Nacional.
VOLUNTEERING
She took two sabbaticals from Fantástico between 2007 and 2009 to be able to take the trips she really wanted: India and Nigeria. On her return, in 2010, she returned and started at Globo Repórter.
FRIENDSHIP WITH ROBERTO CARLOS
The mutual affection between the two began in 2010 when she was invited to present the Roberto Carlos Special. In the same year, the King gave her an interview at his home and ended up singing for Gloria. The following year, once again the presenter led the Friend’s Special, on the occasion in Jerusalem. Roberto even asked her to dance.
FAVORITE PLACE TO LIVE
In an interview with Narcisa Tamborindeguy, in 2018, Glória revealed that the place where she would like to live with her two daughters would be Saint Tropez and Ibiza due to the peace in both places.
MANY PASSPORTS
Glória has already revealed that she had more than 15 passports stamped. And that it didn’t take her long to pack her bags whenever she needed to catch a plane to a different destination.
