The imposing event of the Ceremony at sea, directed by the British Chris Baldwin, gave an impressive impression of history and tradition with the ships and the inhabitants of the maritime city as protagonists, extensions of the mythology of the Lower and Upper world with the alternation of darkness/light by beams of light of the spotlights in the sky, to the sounds of Marina Satti’s choir “Chores”. The celebration of the transition to life and culture was given experientially by the groups of women who welcomed the visitors from the open windows singing polyphonically, the Pontic and Cretan lyres with the dancers of the local clubs in the streets, the philharmonic of the municipality of Elefsina with the legendary song “In the Elefsina once”, even parked cars with young drivers and the music playing in the background. The Stereo Nova concert at the former Iris factory continues in full swing.
