The post on the social media of the prime minister was commented by Kostas Tsoukalas, press representative of PASOK-Movement of Change. Mr. Tsoukalas said in a statement that “the editor of the Prime Minister’s Sunday post has a lot of humor after all.
How else to interpret the disgust “we are not going to back down, whatever the political cost, until all those who received illegal aid are exposed and punished”, in the mouth of the prime minister:
- Who for five years feigned ignorance of a corruption scandal, which imposed a fine close to 1 billion euros on the backs of taxpayers.
- Who set up an unconstitutional farce in Parliament to shield two of his ministers so that they would not be investigated by the Justice Department.
- That his party officials, such as “Frapes” and the Head of Community Resources of New Democracy, are showing off their jaguar”.
“So far the Mitsotakis government is strongly resisting any attempt to clarify the scandal in OPEKEPE and is attacking the European institutions, which are asking for control”Mr. Tsoukalas continues and adds: “The Prime Minister boldly plays the “hero of transparency”. It would be a comedy if it weren’t a sad tragedy.
The truth, however, is that he is acting as a cover-up agent to hide his government’s responsibilities in yet another corruption scandal. Purification will only come with his departure and the defeat of the New Democracy government”.
