Mick Flintwood has said that Fleetwood Mac is now a thing of the past.
The drummer attended the 65th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and confirmed the news.
In his statements to journalists on the sidelines of the Grammy night, he emphasized that he does not see a future for the legendary group after the recent death of singer, songwriter Christine McVie.
“I think now, I really do, that the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris,” admitted Mick Flintwood.
“I’d say we’re done, but we’ve said that before. I can’t think about it right now,” he said.
The British musician, songwriter, drummer and band co-founder also revealed that all members of Fleetwood Mac are focusing on other musical projects, clarifying: “They all go out and play, so I’m going to do the same thing, finding people to play with.”
Fleetwood Mac’s last world tour ‘An Evening with Fleetwood Mac’ took place in 2018 and in 2019 they played two concerts at Wembley Stadium in London.
As Lindsey Buckingham left the band due to a falling out with the rest of the band in early 2018, the tour featured Mick Flintwood, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and John McVie.
Christine McVie died in November 2022 aged 79.
