With excursions in and out of the city, the 840 passengers – 90% Americans, but also Canadians, British and Australians – of the cruise ship “Viking Sky”, the first this year to sail to the port, make the most of their stay in Thessaloniki, at 06:30 , coming from Volos, and will depart at 21.00 for Kusadasi, Turkey.
As an executive of the maritime agency “Davelor Ship Services” reported to APE-MPE, many of the passengers of the cruise ship chose the “Archaeological Museum, Rotunda, Agios Dimitrios, Agia Sophia” tourist route.
Several headed to Vergina and some to the Edessa Falls.
The “Viking Cruises” company will visit the city of Thessaloniki with its “Sea”, “Venus” and “Neptune” cruise ships four more times, on 21/4, 7 and 9/11 and on 15/12, as it turns out from the posted program of the Thessaloniki Port Authority SA on its website.
In total, by the end of 2023, with the data published by the OLTH so far, a total of 67 cruise ships from 13 different companies are expected to dock at the city’s port – five of which will be new to the city, up from 61 in 2022.
The curtain of the cruise will fall this year for the city of Thessaloniki on December 17, with the arrival of the “Celestyal Crystal” from Piraeus at 8 am and its next station, Smyrna, with a departure time of 3 pm.
