He canceled his upcoming concerts and declared that his touring career is over because he is “not physically fit to cope”

Just last year, Ozzy Osbourne he had no plans to “hang up” his mantle. The “prince of darkness” was said to have another tour lined up, even after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003.

“I tell you I will do my best for another tour. You haven’t seen the end of Ozzy Osbourne, I promise. “If I have to go up there and die on the first song, I’ll be back the next day,” Ozzy told the Guardian in August.

However, a few days ago the beloved singer has announced that he will be taking a step back and will now “focus” on the health issues he faces. He canceled his upcoming concerts and stated that his touring career is over because he is “not physically fit to cope”.

In addition to Parkinson’s disease, Osborne suffered damage to his spine in an accident four years ago. “My one and only goal during this time was to get back on stage,” he said. “My voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physiotherapy and most recently the breakthrough Cybernics (HAL) treatment, my body is still physically weak.’ He added in his statement that his team is “currently working on ideas for where I can perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s crazy moments from a life full of touring

  • Public toilet break

During a show at the Alamo in 1982, Ozzy urinated on stage. After the incident he was banned from playing in San Antonio for 10 years.

  • Throwing meat

Osborne threw raw meat during his ‘Diary of a Madman’ tour, including using a catapult to hurl giant chunks of meat into the crowd.

  • Bat snack

Perhaps his most famous on-stage incident occurred in 1982 when Osborne was performing in Des Moines. A dead bat had been thrown onto the stage by a fan and Ozzy, thinking it was rubber, bit it. Osbourne then had to be injected with rabies.

  • Snack with two pigeons

Mick Wall, who wrote the Black Sabbath biography, “Symptom of the Universe,” details an incident during a meeting with Ozzy and record company executives in which the singer bit off the heads of two pigeons.

According to the book, “Sharon arranged for Ozzy to give a short speech praising the efforts of the company’s workforce in preparation for the US release of “Blizzard of Ozz.” Ozzy after the end of his speech would release three white doves into the assembled audience.” Wall says that when executives tried to tell him their ideas, he took out two pigeons and bit off their heads, then spat on the table.

  • Duel with cocaine

In 1978, Van Halen opened for Black Sabbath in Nashville and Birmingham, so naturally there was a “cocaine duel” between the bands.

In his 2015 book, “Van Halen Rising: How a Southern California Backyard Party Band Saved Heavy Metal,” Roth writes that the two of them made out until the next morning. Ozzy went missing for 24 hours, with police being called in to help search for the rocker. He eventually turned up in bad shape in the hotel lobby.

  • He “sniffs” ants

According to Mötley Crüe’s 2001 autobiography “The Dirt,” Ozzy Osbourne and the band were lounging by the pool at a tour stop in Florida when the rocker “sniffed” ants.

After periods of sobriety, Ozzy stated that as of 2021 he had been sober for seven years. He told Variety: “All I can say is that I’m 72 years old. Most of the people I “drank” with are dead. And those who are not, who are still “drinking”, will soon die. It’s not a happy ending.”
