Globo actress says she was harassed during her trip: ‘She groped me and tried to kiss me’

Actress Jade Mascarenhas, who plays Sara in the series “As Five” (Globoplay) said in her profile on social networks that she suffered sexual harassment during a bus trip to São Paulo, on Friday (10). According to her, a man asked to sit on the bench next to her and started groping her and trying to kiss her without her consent.

“It is with great embarrassment and anger that I come to give this report and I hope that it will be useful and that I, like several other victims, will have access to justice. I know that my case of being accepted so quickly is rare. I would love to bury this story and pretend it never happened, but it doesn’t match what I preach,” she wrote.

Jade claimed that as soon as he sat down, the man started “saying horrible things”. “Among them, that I looked like a baby and that he liked that. He groped me several times throughout the trip and I put a backpack on my lap to protect myself. He also tried to forcefully kiss me,” she said.

The actress said that she had the help of four passengers to be able to report it and that they called the police, preventing the man from approaching her again. She reveals that this was her luck at the time and that, on her own, she might not have made it.

When the bus arrived at the Tietê bus station, the police were already waiting for her to give her statement. The man was also taken to the police station. “Other people abandoned their routines to go and testify with me. I really needed this help. It’s very difficult to go to the police station, we are afraid to report a crime of violence against women”, he commented.

According to Jade, the man spent the night at the police station. “You will be booked forever, but you still said you would sue me for slander and defamation, that I was a gold digger. Pay attention around you and protect women who travel alone”, she asked.
