Model and presenter Jessica Alves, 38, told the British newspaper Daily Mail that she will undergo surgery on her vocal cords. The intention is to “make it very feminine” your voice, as part of your gender transition.
“My plan for the first half of 2022 is to get butt implants, voice feminization surgery, and my 12th nose job,” listed Jessica, who turned out to be a transgender woman in 2020. In Brazil, she was known by the nickname ” Human Ken”.
“My life only started in March [de 2021] after my sex reassignment surgery, and I want to enjoy my life as much as possible before I get too old,” said the former contestant on the British reality show Celebrity Big Brother.
Jessica, who lived for two decades in London, returned to Brazil four months ago and is now living in São Paulo. “Being a trans woman in Brazil is totally ok, people are open-minded and respectful, we see trans people everywhere,” she said, in the interview published on Wednesday (29).
To the Brazilian magazine Quem, the model detailed the voice surgery she intends to undergo, and explained her reason. “Voice surgery is for feminization. It will open the throat and sew up the vocal cords. Make it tighter,” he described. “I won’t speak for ten days, and when I come back I’ll have a hoarse voice. After a month I’ll see the result. It’ll be very feminine.”
She also said that her voice affects other people’s perception of her gender. “I hate my voice, I hate it when I answer the phone. They call me anything, I’ll answer it, and ask if Mrs Jessica is speaking,” he said. “Or I go somewhere, and they call me sir. They still don’t understand it’s a woman, because my voice is weird.”
Jessica also plans to undergo further surgery to correct her nose. According to her, the 11 previous procedures caused an infection and impaired her ability to breathe.
“My nose is very ugly, small. It has scars. I have to undergo new surgery on my nose to breathe better and improve its shape,” he explained. “My nose has always been the worst drama of my life, I’ve never been lucky. So this will be another try.”
