On what would have been Elvis Presley’s 88th birthday, one of his three private jets was sold at auction, People reports. This is a 1962 Lockheed 1329 Jetstar that has been stored at Roswell International Air Center in New Mexico for nearly 4 decades. It was sold for $260,000 by an anonymous bidder.

Priscilla Presley (Priscilla Presley) who was present at the Mecum Auctions auction in Kissimmee, Florida spoke about Elvis’ love for cars and airplanes.

According to the auction website, the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” bought the plane on December 22, 1976, for $840,000.

The nine-passenger jet is decked out in wood, red velvet, and gold detailing even on the windows.

The retro 60’s atmosphere is completed by the media collection which includes a TV, audio cassette player and RCA video player. It has not been rebuilt and will need a new engine and cockpit to fly again.
