18-year-old Muhammed Kafer was rescued from the rubble of a building in southern Turkey and is the third person to be rescued this morning some 198 hours after last week’s devastating earthquake, CNN Türk reported.
Last Monday’s devastating earthquake and the massive aftershock that followed killed more than 37,000 people in southern Turkey and northwestern Syria, according to the official toll, which is expected to rise sharply.
In Anti-Yaman province, news networks showed rescuers carrying Kaffer, wearing an oxygen mask and a rescuer holding serum, from the rubble of a collapsed building to an ambulance.
Kaffer appears to be able to move his fingers as he is carried into the ambulance.
Couple of minutes ago the rescuers had retrieved two brothers alive from the ruins of an apartment building in the neighboring province of Kahramanmaras.
The state-run Anadolu news agency reported that they were 17-year-old Muhammed Enes Jeninar and his brother, 21-year-old Baki Jeninar, who was rescued right after him.
Both were taken to ambulances and taken to the hospital. Their health status has not been clarified so far.
