Maurílio, from the duo with Luiza, is buried in a cemetery in Imperatriz (MA)

Country singer Maurílio Ribeiro, 28, who was a partner with Luiza, was buried this Thursday afternoon (30) in the São João Batista cemetery, in Imperatriz (about 630 km from São Luís), in Maranhão. Singer Luiza was shaken and was supported by her girlfriend, ex-BBB Marcela Mc Gowan.

The singer’s wake took place at the city’s City Council and was open to the public. Luiza and Marcela climbed into the Fire Department truck that took the singer’s body to the cemetery.

Maurílio died on Wednesday afternoon at the Instituto Ortopédico de Goiânia (IOG). He had been hospitalized since the 20th in the ICU of a hospital after suffering three cardiac arrests due to pulmonary thromboembolism. Before that, he was hospitalized for five days at Hospital Jardim América.

The musician had been showing a worsening in his clinical condition since Tuesday night (28). The last bulletin, shared by the musician’s press office, this Wednesday morning, reported that he was still hospitalized in serious condition, and had shown another worsening in the last 12 hours.

In a statement released by the artist’s office on Wednesday afternoon, signed by Dr. Wandervan Antônio Azevedo, the hospital communicates with “great regret” the singer’s death at 4:30 pm. In the morning, Luana Ramos, wife of the sertanejo, shared an open letter to God and said she still had hope.

The singer Luiza shared the singer’s medical report on Instagram and asked for prayers. “We are not going to give up, nor be discouraged, keep praying, God is in charge and he is the one who knows everything! We are not going to be discouraged”, wrote Luiza.

Anonymous and famous commented on the singer’s publication “that God is in charge” and that “everything will be alright”. Singer Gabi Martins wrote: “God is taking care”. Forró singer Luan Estilizado commented that everything will work out. “God is ahead, everything will be alright”. The singer Mariana, from the duo with Mateus, wrote: “Mãezinha goes ahead!”

Maurílio suffered three cardiac arrests while recording a DVD, in Goiânia (GO), on December 15th. He was hospitalized at Hospital Jardim América, but was transferred to the Instituto Ortopédico de Goiânia (IOG) after showing “clinical stability.

One day after the singer’s transfer, the mother Odaisa Delmonte shared a record alongside his son on his Instagram profile rooting for his recovery. “I miss your smile and your hug. Wake up, son, we’re waiting for you”, he wrote in the caption.

After the incident with the singer, Work Show, the office that handles the duo’s performances, released a statement about the cancellation of two concerts they would do, on December 17th and 18th, in the cities of Sorriso and Glória d’Oeste, both in Mato Grosso.

On December 25th, a photo was posted on the duo’s profile with a Christmas message and thanks for their prayers to Maurilio. “Great health and light in everyone’s hearts and, once again, our thanks for all your prayers, donations and positive energy towards our Maurilio!”
