The 75-year-old woman who died after being the victim of a robbery at her home late on Friday afternoon (31/10) at 31 Ikarou Street in Salamina, suffered a head injury, probably from a bottle.
The police have launched a manhunt to identify the perpetrators of the crime.
According to the first information, it is a robbery after a murder. The window of the house was found broken, while the victim suffered a blow to the head, probably from a bottle with which they repeatedly hit her on the head.
The woman was found dead by her daughter, who immediately notified the police. Security camera footage in the neighborhood shows people breaking a window and entering the elderly woman’s home.
Speaking to ERTnews, the vice-president of the Union of Police Officers, Nikos Rigas, expressed the belief that the perpetrators will be identified, while he emphasized that the manner of murder is shocking. 75 years old as she has many blows to her head.
The space inside the house was found disturbed, an element that reinforces the scenario of the robbery.
Police officers rushed to the scene, while a team from the Homicide Department is also expected, in order to collect evidence and identify the perpetrators.
Investigations are in full swing, while the results of the autopsy are expected to shed light on the exact circumstances of the crime.
