Carla Perez reappears with Loira do Tchan costume in homage to ‘herself’

by

Carla Perez, 45, relived the days of Loira do Tchan in the children’s block Pipoca Doce, which she led this Sunday (19) at Carnival in Salvador. The singer, dancer and presenter decided to appear with the costumes with which she exploded all over Brazil to the sound of “Segura o Tchan”, in the 1990s.

At the time, still under the name of Gera Samba, the group she was part of became a national fever with short costumes, choreographed dances and double meaning lyrics. In addition to Carla, at the time, Débora Brasil (Morena do Tchan) and Jacaré were also part of the corps de ballet – the vocalists were Beto Jamaica and Compadre Washington.

On social media, Carla explained that the costume was “in honor of Blonde from Tchan: myself!”. After the joke, she told more series that, in fact, it was a tribute to the whole group. “I really wanted to do this homage to É o Tchan, of which I was a part”, she said. “They are celebrating 30 years, nothing more than deserved for us to be able to honor them.”

“There are so many artists, so many bands that were inspired and are inspired to this day by Gera Samba, by É o Tchan, and I am part of that story”, he recalled. “I’m very happy to be able to honor them here and my affection, my respect, goes to everyone who, from the very beginning, passed through É o Tchan and Gerasamba.”

The parade of the block had the participation of the duo Patati and Patatá and the singers Tays Reis, Biel and Ruivinha de Marte. All over Brazil, other celebrities performed or enjoyed the revelry. Check it out in the gallery.
