The Best European Film Location Award 2022 went to the legendary beach Chiliadou of Evia which during the pandemic welcomed the shooting of the multi-awarded film “The Triangle of Sorrow”, by Swedish Ruben Estlund (Cannes Festival Palme d’Or).

THE award by the European Film Commission Network (EUFCN) took place today at the 73rd Berlinale, within the framework of the European Film Market, and was the result of the successful public response for Greece in the voting process for the selection of the Best Film Location.

The Hellenic Film Center and its directorate for International Audiovisual Co-productions – Hellenic Film Commission (HFC), which submitted the nomination, express, in a statement, their thanks to the participants in the online voting that began last November after the announcement of the five finalists for the European Film Location Award 2022. The other four locations were from Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany and Croatia.

It should be noted that in 2018, the same award was received by Corfu of the television series “The Durrells”, already making two awards for Greece since 2017, when the institution of the best Film Location of the year was established by EUFCN.
