Both the favorite singer Adele as well as Ed Sheeran declined an invitation to perform at his coronation concert King Charles III‘, which is scheduled for May 7.

Rumor has it that both artists turned down the opportunity due to their ‘busy’ schedules. The king’s coronation is scheduled for May 7 at Westminster Abbey, with a later event at Windsor Castle.

“The King suggested a number of artists he would like to perform and Adele along with Ed Sheeran were on that list. He was very willing to participate in the concert,” said a person from the Palace environment.

“There is a team that has been created for this purpose. So they approached both the artistes but the response they got disappointed them as they were told that they are not available. They are “Titans” of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British, but also known all over the world. It’s a shame,” said the same man.

The ‘Shape Of You’ singer is scheduled to perform at a concert in Texas, shortly before King Charles’ coronation concert.

Meanwhile, Adele has nothing publicly listed for May 7, as after March 25, her successful Las Vegas concerts will be over. It’s not yet known whether award-winning singer Harry Styles will take part, although it’s understood the royal would love to.
